It is mainly used as colorant for glass and ceramics, the raw material for manufacturing metal neodymium and the raw material for strong magnetic neodymium iron boron (NdFeB). Neodymium Oxide (Nd2O3) Powder Application
Used in the production of various coloring pigments.
Used to dope glass.
Used to produce solid-state lasers and enamels.
Used as a polymerization catalyst.
Neodymium Oxide, also called Neodymium, is mainly used for glass and capacitors. Colors glass delicate shades ranging from pure violet through wine-red and warm gray. Light transmitted through such glass shows unusually sharp absorption bands. The glass is used in astronomical work to produce sharp bands by which spectral lines may be calibrated. Glass containing neodymium is a laser material in place of ruby to produce coherent light. Adding 1.5% – 2.5% nano neodymium oxide to magnesium alloy or aluminum alloy can improve high temperature performance, air tightness and corrosion resistance of the alloy, which is widely used as aerospace materials.
